December 2019 - New funding from LabEx Ceba
The LabEx Ceba has selected our project Understory, co-led byJérôme Chave and me. This project will allow us to set up two new plots to explore plant diversity of the Amazonian forest understory in Paracou and the Nouragues. We will be collaborating with people from EcoFoG, EDB, AMAP and LEEISA. The LabEx Ceba will also support two other projects I will contribute to: PhenObs (led by Nicolas Barbier) and Metradica (led by Clément Stahl and Ghislain Vielledent). Exciting time ahead!
October 2019 - Welcoming PhD students
Very excited to welcome my first PhD student Daniela Krebber, co-supervised with Eric Marcon and Claire Fortunel. Daniela is funded by a doctoral grant of the LabEx Ceba and will work on the role of biodiversity on tropical forest response to climate and anthropogenic disturbance. Bienvenu Amani, a PhD student working forest secondary succession in Ivory Coast and supervised by Bruno Hérault and Karidia Traoré, is also coming back for another 6 months with us.
April 2019 - Ivory Coast
I'm heading to Yamoussoukro to work to take part in Bienvenu Amani PhD supervision and work with Bruno Hérault. Excited to discover forests in this part of the world! Thanks to Campus France for their support.
June 2019 - Funding from AFB and LabEx CeMEB
I'm very grateful to the Agence française pour la biodiversité (AFB) and the Centre méditerranéen de l’environnement et de la biodiversité (LabEx CeMEB) for their support to our study of the “effects of tropical forest management on ecosystem response to climate change”.
